The MaineDOT Work Plan outlines the work that the department plans to perform over the next three years. The Work Plan is calendar year-based and includes all MaineDOT work activities. Projects and activities listed for Calendar Year 2025 have the most definite schedules and estimates, while those for Calendar Years 2026 and 2027 may be more subject to change.
East Side: June 19th to July 11th
Arsenal Street, Bangor Street RT3, Cony Street, Eastern Avenue, East Side Circle, Hospital Street, North Belfast Avenue, South Belfast Avenue, and Stone Street.
West Side: May 27th to June 13th
Airport Road, Armory Road, Bond Street, Bridges Approaches, Bridge Street (State Street. East), Capitol Street (State Street to Armory), Civic Center Drive, Commerical Street, Commerical Street By-pass, Mount Vernon Avenue, Northern Avenue, Sewall Street (Western to line), State Street, Towsnsend Road, Water Street, Western Avenue, West Side Circle, Whiteen Road (to end of curb), and Winthrop Street.
Please note that the sweeping schedule can change due to weather or the amount of material to be cleaned up. Look for updates by checking for alerts on our website and social media platforms or by calling the office at 207-626-2435.
To help with cleanup efforts, please sweep the winter sand from your sidewalk and driveways into the street (do not put it into piles) before your area is scheduled to be swept. Thank you for your cooperation!
Purpose
To ensure the City’s infrastructure and its Right of Ways (ROW) are adequately maintained with respect to form and function and provide an environment that protects the safety, health, and welfare of the citizenry, the city will utilize various means as identified, recommended and statutorily approved by the Legislature and regulated thru the State’s Board of Pesticides Control to maintain the City’s flora and fauna.

The form must be turned in annually to Augusta Public Works no later than the end of business hours on April 15th to be placed on the opt-out list for that calendar year.
