POLLING LOCATIONS
Augusta Voters will vote at the following locations based on residence address:
Ward 1: Buker Community Center - 22 Armory Street
Ward 2: Augusta City Center - 16 Cony Street
Ward 3: Augusta Civic Center - 76 Community Drive
Ward 4: Cony High School - 40 Pierce Drive

Voter Registration
Residents can register to vote on Election Day at their designated polling locations. Residents can also register early by mailing in a Voter Registration Card or by filling out that form and visiting us in person!
How to Change Party Enrollment
Simply fill out a new voter registration card and indicate your new preference. Once you have enrolled in a party you must remain in that party for 90 days. Please keep in mind, that there is a 15-day waiting period when changing your party affiliation ONLY.

ACCESSIBLE BALLOTS
If you are a voter with a disability that makes it difficult for you to use a paper ballot, you can request an accessible ballot by one of the following:
- Local Elections Only: Contact the City Clerk's Office at 207-626-2310 or election.ballot@augustamaine.gov
- For State & Local Elections combined: Accessible Ballot
NEW: Accessible Electronic Absentee Ballots are available through the State's online absentee ballot request site. The following procedure will be used for accessible electronic absentee ballots for a voter:
- The Voter requests an accessible absentee ballot and gives the Clerk their email address
- The Clerk provides IVS with the Voter's name and district
- IVS generates a ballot
- The clerk emails the voter the ballot with instructions.
ABSENTEE VOTING INFORMATION
Absentee Ballots can be requested 90 before the scheduled election
Request an Absentee Ballot by:
- Visiting City Hall in person during regular business hours
- Call the City Clerk's Office Monday to Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM at (207) 626-2310. During election season, election staff can be reached at 207-620-8165.
- Request an absentee ballot online
- Complete an absentee ballot application and return to:
- Mailing: City Clerk's Office, 16 Cony Street, Augusta, ME
- Fax: 207-620-8127
- Email: treasury@augustamaine.gov
Note: If you request a mailed ballot, please allow delivery time – both to receive and return – (2 to 5) days each way.
Absentee Ballots are available 30 days before the scheduled election
Voters may cast in-person absentee ballots at City Hall until the Thursday prior to Election Day during regular business hours Monday to Friday from 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM (excluding holidays) and by Special Circumstances until 8:00 PM on election night.
Ballots can be returned by:
- Mail: 16 Cony Street, Augusta, ME
- Drop Box: Located outside the front entrance of City Hall on the left hand side of the front door(s)
- In Person: In person to the Warden/City Clerk in the Absentee Processing Room located on the first floor (Learning Gallery #145) of Augusta City Hall.
We recommend you return your absentee ballot before Election Day.
Please remember all ballots must be returned to the municipal clerk no later than 8:00 PM on election night.
Are you interested in serving your community? Consider working at the polls on Election Day.
Election Workers are needed each election to work at the polls, distribute ballots, check in incoming voters, tally election results, assist voters, and help the Warden and Ward Clerk maintain general order in the polling place. No experience is necessary; training will be provided.

ELIGIBILITY - STATE LAW SETS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTION WORKERS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a registered Maine voter
- Must be a resident of the municipality or county where they will be serving
- 16 and 17 year olds who are conditionally registered to vote are allowed to serve
- Must not be a candidate or a member of a candidate’s immediate family
