City of Augusta Expands Development Services Office with New Economic Development Specialist

Augusta, ME – The City of Augusta is pleased to announce the expansion of its Development Services Office with the addition of Katie Ramirez as our new Economic Development Specialist. Katie joins the Economic Development Bureau with a wealth of experience in public health, housing instability, and community advocacy, all of which will be invaluable as Augusta continues to grow and thrive.

A native of Maine, Katie was born and raised in the Midcoast region, where she has dedicated her career to supporting clients and community partners through her work with various nonprofit and government agencies. Her expertise spans program management, advocacy, research, policy, and outreach services. With these skills, Katie is well-positioned to contribute to Augusta’s goals of fostering resiliency and supporting local businesses.

“I am honored to be in this role with the City of Augusta that allows me to continue my passion for public service,” Katie said. “What I look forward to is not only being a part of exciting, upcoming projects to address the City’s long-term goals, but also to develop my connections with the residents and local partners that help make this City great!”

Katie holds a dual bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Human Services from Northeastern University and is currently pursuing her Master's in Policy, Planning & Management at the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, dancing, and creating art.
