Changes to Single-stream Recycling

Beginning July 1st, residents must bring all single-stream recycling to the Hatch Hill Landfill at 112 Hatch Hill Road.
Single Stream Recycling will no longer be accepted at Augusta Public Works effective July 1st.

The decision to discontinue recycling collection at the Public Works facility was made during the FY27 budget process as a cost-saving measure. We are currently exploring a single stream option that will sort the recyclables out of all the rubbish we take in, but for now you can still recycle at our Hatch Hill facility. We understand this change may be frustrating and will be sharing all feedback we receive. Questions or concerns can also be sent directly to council@augustamaine.gov.
