Public Workshop Event Announcement
Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2024
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Location: Augusta City Hall, Lecture Room #138 (First Floor)
The City of Augusta is hosting a public workshop to discuss its enrollment in the Community Resilience Partnership, a program offered through the Governor's Office of Policy, Innovation and the Future. By joining this partnership, Augusta will gain access to valuable resources, technical assistance, and a network of professionals to help address our climate change and resilience goals.
To date, the City has conducted a preliminary evaluation with staff to identify community needs and goals. However, we want to hear from you! Your input is vital to ensure that the experiences and needs of community members are reflected in the City’s decision-making processes, and to address the impacts of our actions.
During the workshop, we will review the List of Community Actions derived from the “Maine Won’t Wait” 4-Year Climate Action Plan. This document outlines actionable strategies and goals for reducing carbon emissions, harnessing renewable energy, and protecting our natural resources and communities from the effects of climate change.
We will discuss what the City has accomplished so far in addressing climate change impacts and present the results of a survey completed by City staff. Through this presentation and group discussion, we seek your input on what should be prioritized and addressed in Augusta’s climate action efforts.
Additional Information: This public workshop is open to everyone. No pre-registration is required, but we kindly ask attendees to sign in upon arrival. If you need any accommodations to participate fully, please contact the workshop coordinator in advance: Economic Development Specialist, Katie Ramirez at katherine.ramirez@augustamaine.gov or (207) 626-2365
