The Bureau of Public Works maintains 150 miles of City streets and 200 miles of sidewalks, including repairs, snow removal and weekly curbside collection of domestic refuse. A schedule of curbside collection and the rubbish recycling calendar are available by stopping in or calling Public Works at 626-2435 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday. Spring clean-up collections are held in late April or early May for a small fee. Please watch the city's web site for updated detailed information on special pickups and other Public Works and Solid Waste programs. The main garage and administrative offices are located at 55 North Street (off Bridge Street).
