Augusta Residents, as many of you are aware, there are changes coming to the single sort program in Augusta:
Effective Feb. 4, 2019, the single sort containers located at the Augusta City Center and the Police Department HAVE BEEN removed. This is being done due to contamination, items left outside the containers when they are full and non-Augusta residents and businesses using them without permission.
Hatch Hill hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday to Saturday (Augusta residents & Contracting Communities)
Public Works (AUGUSTA RESIDENTS ONLY) hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday as well as the following extended hours:
Wednesdays: facility will be open until 6:00 pm
Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Both locations are closed on legal holidays.
The Hatch Hill container is available to Augusta residents and residents of the contracting communities. If residents from Augusta or one of the contracting communities bring in only recycling then Hatch Hill takes it free of charge. Hatch Hill does not take recyclables from commercial haulers.
The Public Works container is for City of Augusta residents only.
Signs have been posted at both City Center and Police Department containers to let people know that they have been removed.
