The City of Augusta is a member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities which is an institutional affiliate of the World Health Organization's Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities & Communities.  Our citizens have formed an Age-Friendly Advisory Committee which has implemented many new programs in our community including; sand bucket delivery for qualified senior citizens (to help reduce winter-time falls and injuries from slippery walks and driveways), 

If you are interested in learning more or volunteering feel free to come to a meeting!  Beginning in May 2023, The Age-Friendly Advisory Committee will meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm at Lithgow Library in the Community Meeting Room (CMR).
