Children should have an opportunity to:
- make choices
- eat a nutritious snack
- participate in small group activities
- have privacy, alone or with a group of friends
- do quiet activities, including homework if desired
- explore materials on their own
- participate in both child-initiated and adult-directed activities
- have free play
- have one-on-one time with a staff person if they so desire
- be outside or in an area appropriate for gross motor activities
Weekly:

- plan for upcoming activities
- take some responsibility for the program
- be involved in the community
