Welcome to the
Bureau of Audit
WELCOME TO THE BUREAU OF AUDIT, WHERE FINANCIAL INTEGRITY MEETS METICULOUS OVERSIGHT.
As stewards of fiscal responsibility, the Audit Bureau plays a vital role in maintaining internal controls for all City transactions. From processing municipal purchase orders and accounts payables to managing payroll and non-tax account receivables, we ensure the integrity and accuracy of every financial transaction.
Our responsibilities extend to managing fixed assets, reconciling bank accounts, and providing comprehensive reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. We also spearhead year-end preparations for the annual independent financial audit, ensuring compliance with city charter, federal, and state laws.
Goals
- Assist bureaus in tracking financial information accurately.
- Achieve clean audits consistently.
- Uphold accounting controls mandated by city charter and laws.
- Maintain precise records for all city transactions.
At the Department of Audit, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and accuracy in financial management. Welcome to a department committed to ensuring the financial well-being of our city.
The Bureau of Audit operates under the Department of Finance and Administration, overseen by Director Ingrid Nivison. The Department of Finance and Administration is organized into smaller, specialized bureaus to enhance our effectiveness. This structure allows us to focus on different areas of community service with the required expertise.
